As the Easter long weekend and school holidays draw near, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. As we enter Autumn, we’ve curated a list of our favourite hiking tracks all conveniently located within driving length from Hanley’s Farm.

Queenstown Trail:

With over 130km of off-road trails to choose from taking you from Queenstown to Gibbston via Arrowtown, there’s a hike here to suit everyone. This network of trails is perfect for all fitness levels and is suitable for those who would like to bike, hike or go via horseback and it is also wheelchair and pram friendly. Check out the Queenstown Trail website for more information and to plan your perfect family hike.

Historic Tunnel Walk:

Located just 30 minutes by car from Hanley’s Farm, step back in time and discover the charm of the Historic Tunnel Walk. Perfect for families with a penchant for history, this trail combines the beauty of nature with a glimpse into the past. Keep your eyes peeled for the steam engine – one of the main attractions as you meander through a path that showcases the rich nature of Queenstown.

Kawarau Falls Scenic Reserve:

This family-friendly (and dog-friendly) track follows the riverside trail to the Old Lower Shotover Bridge. Before meandering through pastoral land, we recommend stopping and enjoying a picnic at Billie’s Bridge. For those opting to travel by bike, this trail is perfect with dual valve air pumps now available at the Old Lower Shotover Bridge.

Living at Hanley’s Farm and being surrounded by nature creates a truly special community to connect with your neighbours. Follow our website for more updates on ways to stay active and healthy over the coming months.
